Camp PMC’s Course 101 is a tremendous opportunity to learn a lot about PMC in a short amount of time. In this intensive, hands-on, two-day class, students will gain a wealth of skills and knowledge for working with PMC silver clay products. No experience is necessary!

The five in-class projects teach fundamental techniques such as rolling, texturing, cutting, carving, sculpting, molding, setting fireable stones, embedding silver findings, making clay paste, joining, refining, firing, and polishing. Various clays in the PMC line will be utilized to demonstrate appropriate applications of each type of clay.

Students will make these five projects:

a pair of earrings with fireable CZ gems and embedded findings

a multilayered pendant, textured on both sides, with syringe detail

wrapped beads with carved detail

a toggle clasp with molded and sculpted elements

a bypass ring with a fireable stone

Time will be devoted to the why’s and how’s of successful firing processes. Multiple kiln firings will be offered, and each student will practice torch firing PMC3.

As part of their course fee, students will receive 20g of PMC3, 25g of PMC OneFire 950, 5g of PMC Flex, and 9g PMC3 Syringe. The fee also includes lunch both days, a course handbook, fireable cubic zirconia, embeddable findings, earwires, and use of all necessary tools and equipment.

Upon successful completion of the projects and a short written test, each student will receive a Certificate of Completion from Sawtooth School for Visual Art and an 8% discount on all PMC clays at Clay Revolution and Rio Grande Jewelry Supply.
